Part of Durham University, the Centre for Digital Theology is a research unit looking at the digitalisation of society and its implications for Christian faith and practice. The Centre carries out research and publishes academic papers as well as articles for a more general readership.

The website gives access to a range of reports and articles on the church's response to Covid-19 and the closure of church buildings including:

  • Everybody Welcome Online which looks at: Safeguarding, Church Stories, Good Practice, How to Conduct Great Online PCC Meetings, Zoom, Accessibility and Online Church, Spiritual and Theological Reflections Link
  • Everybody Welcome to the Future which looks at how many new churchgoers may have emerged over lockdown and suggests how to welcome people into church and faith today, and how to plan for a mixed in-person-online church future. It considers how lockdown and online give us a unique opportunity to re-think and re-grow our churches.
